WALTERS MINISTRIES NOT ONLY HAS A HEART FOR THE PEOPLE OF UGANDA, BUT FOR CHURCHES & MINISTERS STATESIDE. WE HAVE MULTIPLE PROGRAMS IN PLACE THAT WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO CONNECT TO!
THE HARBOR
Genesis 2:2-3 KJV- "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."
Rest is something that God ordained and modeled for us from the beginning. In fact, God called the day He rested “blessed.” Resting in ministry is just as important as working in ministry. Not only is it important as ministry leaders to pause and allow ourselves to recharge and grow, it is blessed and established by God and should be an integral part of any ministry. All of our work needs to be laid aside so we can rest. God took a break from everything, and so should we.
Rest doesn't just benefit us personally, it also strengthens our families, our ministries, and is vital to our health. To be the most effective leader we must set aside times to rest, rejuvenate and refresh so our full potential can be used for the Kingdom of God. It is impossible to pour out from an empty vessel. Rest allows us to be filled once again so we might continue the work God has set before us.
It is also important to forge friendships with others that are in ministry. It's wonderful to know you have someone who will stand by you and pray for you when things get tough.
Job 33:15-16 KJV - "In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; 16 Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction."
Sometimes what we need to hear from the Lord can only be received when we are at rest. There is a word from the Lord that can only come to us once we have stepped away from work and entered into rest. It is in our resting that our ears will be opened and our divine instructions sealed. If you need to hear from the Lord, I challenge you to rest so you might receive.
Establishing a time and place for weary ministers to rest has been a dream of Walters Ministry for many years. Our goal is to host pastoring couples each year for an extended weekend in which each couple enjoys an atmosphere of fellowship and relaxation. During this time, many of our guests meet other couples who are experiencing the same seasons in life.
At the Harbor, each night is spent in worship and edification with guest speakers and worship leaders that create an atmosphere of God's presence. It is a wonderful time of spiritual refreshing. We provide lodging, meals, special entertainment excursions, and fellowship with new friends. This is an all-inclusive weekend for each ministry couple. We simply want ministers to come and be blessed and not have to worry about any out of pocket expenses.
Gathering at the Harbor is one of our most exciting events of the year!
